Let Us Give You Peace Of Mind And Keep Your Loved Ones At Home

Beatitudes for Friends of the Aged

Blessed are they who understand my faltering step and palsied hand.
Blessed are they who know my ears today must strain to catch the things you say.
Blessed are they who seem to know that my eyes are dim and my wits are slow.
Blessed are they who never say “you’ve told that story twice today”!
Blessed are they who know the ways to bring back memories of yesterdays.
Blessed are they who make it known I’m loved, respected and not alone.
Blessed are they who know I’m at a loss to find the strength to carry the cross.
Blessed are they who ease the days on my journey home in loving ways.

Help us Raise Funds for a Great Cause

Dementia and Alzheimer’s is a horrible and incurable disease. My father was diagnosed with Dementia almost 4 years ago. The picture on the left is from 2010 when my parents went on a cruise to Alaska. The picture on the right is from the CaringKind walk on September 2018. This disease takes a toll on your mind, leaving you slowly withdrawn and slowly forgetting your loved ones. Dementia also takes a toll on families and those who take on the role of caretaker. My mom has taken that role and she is doing an amazing job. I am running the NYC Marathon or the CaringKind organization. CaringKind has focused on equipping New Yorkers with the time, space, and skills they need to be able to care with confidence and make each day a little brighter. Please consider making a donation to this foundation. Help me reach my goal of raising $3,500.

Fundraiser for Billy Grady

My brother Billy is someone who is loved by the whole community. He’s a solid member of his church and is respected by all who meet him. Billy is a quadriplegic as a result of a diving accident 27 years ago and is confined to a wheelchair. He doesn’t let that stop him though.  He is able to drive using a specially modified van; allowing him the freedom and mobility that the rest of us take for granted. But that van is old and is rusting out from under him.

It’s not only Billy who relies on his vehicle but our mom too, who is also in a wheelchair and living in a nursing home. Billy’s van enables her to attend church and visit home. Billy and mom can’t get into conventional vehicles because of their disabilities. The price for a converted vehicle is as much as four times the price of a standard one, and none of it is covered by insurance. I hope you will please find it in your heart to help Billy to get a reliable mode of transport.

Employees consistently went above and beyond in taking care of Rose and making sure all her needs were met. I can’t express how grateful I am that SafeHarbor was there to care for Rose. SafeHarbor was a Godsend.

Gary

My son is chronically ill but he smiles when he sees the SafeHarbor nurse come in the door.  She has helped him and me cope with the complications of his illness.
